Vector installs a per-user add-in and works through the SOLIDWORKS API. It reads the feature tree and your selection, edits parts and assemblies natively, and works with drawings.
What Vector can do
- Read the open document, its feature tree, and your current selection.
- Create and edit native features in parts and assemblies.
- Add mates and design new parts in the context of an assembly.
- Work with drawing sheets and export PDFs and exchange files.
- Render the viewport and look up the SOLIDWORKS API in your installed SDK.
Example requests
Apply the red markups on the attached drawing to the open assembly, then update the drawing.
Design a cover for the gas strut that mounts to the two upper brackets, and mate it.
Create a drawing sheet for each fabricated part in this assembly and export the PDFs.
