Apply drawing markups to a model
Hand Vector a red-lined drawing and have it make the changes in the part or assembly, then update the drawing.
Before you start
- The part or assembly open in SOLIDWORKS or Fusion, plus its drawing.
- A photo or PDF of the drawing with the changes marked up, for example in red.
- A copy of the files if the change should go into a new revision.
Steps
- 1
Attach the markup and name the target
Say which document should change if several are open.
Example request Apply the red markups on the attached drawing to the open assembly. List each change you find before editing.
- 2
Let Vector make the changes
It edits the native features and dimensions, so the change flows through the model history.
- 3
Update and check the drawing
Ask for the drawing to be updated and for the changed dimensions to be measured.
Example request Update the drawing views, then measure each changed dimension on the model and confirm it matches the markup. Export the drawing as PDF.
