Autodesk Fusion
How Vector connects to Fusion and what it can do in your design.
How the connection works
Vector works on the open design through Fusion’s local MCP server, which is part of Fusion. There is no separate add-in to install. When you connect, Vector turns on the Fusion MCP Server option in Preferences → General → API, which takes effect the next time Fusion starts.
Connect
- 1
Open Integrations
In Vector, open Settings → Integrations.
- 2
Connect Fusion
Select Connect… next to Autodesk Fusion.
- 3
Restart Fusion if asked
If Fusion is running, Vector asks to restart it. Fusion prompts you to save unsaved work first.
- 4
Confirm
Fusion shows as Connected in Integrations.
You can also connect from a chat. When a task needs Fusion, Vector asks “Connect Autodesk Fusion?” and offers to restart and connect.
