Sidekick and overlay
The two ways Vector sits beside your CAD application, and how to steer a task.
Sidekick
The sidekick docks beside your CAD window and narrows it to make room, then restores its size when you close the sidekick. Press Ctrl+L while your CAD application or Vector is in front to show or hide it. You can change the shortcut in Settings → General → Keyboard shortcut.
Overlay
The overlay is a bar at the bottom center of your CAD window that expands into a full panel. Press Esc to collapse it. It’s available while a connected application is open.
Switching between them
- Use the Overlay and Sidekick buttons in the chat header.
- Choose Overlay Mode or Sidekick Mode from the Vector icon in the system tray.
- Set which one opens by default under Settings → General → Open Vector as.
While Vector works
- Press
Enterto send andShift+Enterfor a new line. - Select Stop to end the current task.
- Queue a message to send when Vector finishes, or choose Send now to steer it right away.
- Turn on “Notify when a task finishes” or “Play a sound when a task finishes” in Settings → General.
